Does the co-parent have to attend with me or does he/she have to attend a separate class?
Typically, most parents do not attend the same co-parenting class. It's best that both parents attend separate classes to allow each parent an opportunity to ask questions they otherwise might not with the parent present. It is on occasion that both parents attend together when requested. If together, I monitor the couple and how they interact with each other, because it is important that each parent be comfortable asking those important questions. Classes are scheduled in a way that allows both parents to attend separate classes.
What if I can't afford the full payment?
The court systems provide an Affidavit of Indigency form for cases when expenses are unable to bear. All providers are required to accept this form in instances of financial hardship. You may view a court's website to download and print the Indigent form or contact a court Clerk's office. Completed forms must be delivered to the court for approval before attending the class. Once approved the form is presented to the class provider.
